Third-hand smoke also bad for you: study

The fact that these articles never make mention about the amount of cigarettes needed to create harmful amounts of “third hand smoke” are in the one pack a day and above range makes this all a bit pedestrian and banal.

I’m ok with not smoking in bars (especially in the warmer months, if its above freezing you can go outside to smoke) and second hand smoke is a definite reason for banning smoking in a lot of places, but come one. Third hand smoke? Seriously? I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times, moderation of anything is ok. If I want to have a cig or two on the weekends then let me do that in peace. Don’t give anti-smokers the ammunition of shit like “third hand smoke” to make me feel bad for one of my vices…

(Also, Alassandra Ambrosio smoking just made my week…)

Coldplay Quit

Gwyneth Paltrow has been branded the Yoko Oko of Coldplay — because she’s trying to convince her husband Chris Martin to leave the band and go solo, writes ShowbizSpy and Betty Confidential online tonight.

The actress apparently feels her hubby will do better on his own. “Gwyneth has outright told Chris that he should consider going solo,” a source told Betty Confidential. “She is busy doing all of her projects and she wants him to diversify as well. She doesn’t have a problem with Coldplay, but she wants Chris to think about trying a solo album just to see if he likes it. “When Gwyneth mentioned it, Chris was furious. He loves the band and he has no desire to change things right now. Chris basically ignored her and walked away.”

In 2004, Paltrow said, “People ask if I will sing with the band or do a duet, but always in front of my mind is the Yoko effect. I don’t want to be known as the girl who split up Coldplay.”

From, sigh, Perez…

We’re so glad we’ve never uploaded any of our stuff onto Facebook!

You Facebook users are SCREWED.

Did you know that everything you’ve loaded up into your profile (personal pictures, etc.) belongs to Facebook, even after you’ve closed your account?

That’s what it says in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you opened your account, apparently.

The Consumerist recently uncovered this disturbing info and it’s causing quite a stir.

So, what does this mean?

Basically, Facebook can do whatever the hell they want with YOUR STUFF.

And, they can do so WITHOUT your permission.

For example, they can license your personal pictures out to companies, make a shizzle of money and don’t have to give you a dime.

Sounds really, really shitty and sooo shady!!!!!

Cop pulls gun over scooter helmet violation

openquoteTAIPEI (Reuters) – A motor scooter rider in central Taiwan was held at gunpoint during a traffic stop for not wearing a safety helmet, local media said on Thursday.

After a police car whistled to the scooter to pull over, the officer in Taichung county pulled a gun on the 54-year-old rider surnamed Lin, who was wearing a hat but not a helmet, and ordered her not to move, Taiwan’s Liberty Times said.

A spokesman for the Taiping police station in Taichung county said a gun was pulled because the rider had tried to get away.

“If you don’t pull over, this can happen,” said station spokesman You Chi-ming. “The officer’s action was not extreme.”closequote

Wal MArt

For a second there I thought we lived in 2008, not 1008, when something like this wouldn’t occur in such a civilized time.
