Absolutely true and hilarious:

openquoteRemember when we were kids and the heroes of high school movies were cool? Remember how Ferris Bueller was funny and smart and had a hot girlfriend and everyone liked him, and Marty McFly beat up bullies and shredded on guitar? Now all kids have to look up to are pussy emo vampires, underground MMA fighters with armband tats, and awkward, hateful nerds who make lame jokes and reference movies that came out before they were born. And when did all the guys become passive twats and all the girls desperate sluts? I swear to God, one of these days I’m gonna drive down to Fox and wedgie everyone who walks in the building. Soon as I find my pants.openquote

How’d This Happen?

9 April, 2009

I guess Fast and Furious is the number one movie right now? Don’t get me wrong, cool cars and hot chicks are awesome, but this movie is defying all convention. Well, to be honest, convention has gone out the window. So, this movie defies nothing… good for it.

Hell. Yes.

This looks absolutely wonderful…

Swiss Family Robinson is a film that definitely affected my childhood. In fact its one of my earlier memories, watching the movie with my parents and older brother (I don’t think my other two siblings were even born yet).

This movie really has it all, for 1960 at least, its got Christian values; see when the family first lands on the island, the firs thing they do is not find food or build a tent, they pray (Seriously…). It’s got action, its got sex appeal (eh, kind of…) its got adventure, comedy. Its good stuff.

This Was Awesome….

Seriously, Noah Wyle, Kyle McLaughlin, Bob Newhart! And a sexy British lady, seriously, The Librarian: Quest for the Spear was like if the people behind Wishbone (awesome) were given the task of making Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. And there’s a sequel…

This was seriously the best Youtube had to offer…

Well, I’ll be…

This is pretty cool:

closequoteWilder and Brackett were nervous about a major screening in Hollywood and decided to have the film preview in Evanston, Illinois. The original edit opened with a scene inside a morgue, with the assembled corpses discussing how they had come to be there. Joe Gillis was one of the corpses and began telling about his murder. The audience reacted with laughter and seemed unsure whether to view the rest of the film as a drama or a comedy. After a similar reaction during its second screening the opening scene was deleted. The new edit was well-received in Poughkeepsie, New York.closequote

This is German Expressionism at its best. Seriously. Rent this movie. The Allegory of the Cave meets Dr. Caligari (only way, way, way better than Caligari). One of the few Expressionist films from that era to still have precedent today. Kicks ass…

Oy, another…

Another post from Perez, that’s pretty interesting, I guess…

closequoteA horror movie night turned into a real-life slasher after a teenager was stabbed by a security guard in Long Island after a screening of the remade gore-fest let out.

A scuffle arose between the security guard and the moviegoer after the kid refused to leave the Sunrise Multiplex while he waited for his ride home. 24-year-old Ricardo Singh then stabbed the 16-year-old in the upper stomach area.
