Really? I mean, REALLY?

Come on…

Not that I care about any of the people involved, either directly or indirectly for that matter, but this ridiculously ludicrous…

A couple of months ago Joe Francis was accused by Jayde Nicole (pictured here) of pulling her hair, throwing her to the ground and kicking her.

His defense: that she poured a drink on his back and hit him.

Then, about two months later the surveillance video of the incident appeared showing exactly what Jayde had said, Joe Francis pulls her hair, throws her to the ground, kicks her and then runs away like a fairly princess. Well, today the DA got to give his word, and naturally he sided with Jayde as you can actually WATCH Joe Francis commit the acts, oh wait, no he didn’t…

…the D.A. supports Joe’s claims that the surveillance video shows that Jayde “appears to have acted without immediate provocation.

Nice one guys, maybe next week you can go back and overturn the ruling on Phil Spector while you’re at it…

I mean, come on, the guy did describe his new album, “as if a ’70s time-capsule blasted off into space and you’re watching it through a holographic filter.”

What can I say? Dudes honest, can’t hate him for that.

When I think of Bridgestone I can think of only one thing… flexible, color e-readers. Wait, what?

When we heard word of a “big announcement” back in July we imagined an e-reader of some sort, but what is it that we have here? Based on a technology Bridgestone calls Quick-response Liquid Powder, the company’s all-color touchscreen e-book reader is about 5.8mm thick, features a 13.1-inch touch-sensitive e-paper display (with 4,096 colors and a refresh rate of about 0.8 seconds), and some sort of unspecified mobile phone connectivity. Most exciting, of course, is that the entire package — circuit board, touchscreen, and housing — are designed to bend together. A neat trick, sure, but probably not too practical for jotting down notes with your stylus. Still, we’d take two. Trials begin at the Kansai Urban Banking Corp early next year, but you can check it out sooner at FPD International 2009 in Yokohama City, Japan, starting tomorrow.

Atom Punk: 10/26/09

Some of the greatest visuals of the Atomic Age, IMHO, come from Disneyland. There’s something about the grainy super 8 and 16mm film stock of home movies coupled with the colors and architecture of the place that really capture the time period well.

The Day Cartoon Network Died…

This is so true. When I was younger, in the early 90s, Cartoon Network was the greatest channel ever. With its random Hanna-Barbara resurrections and He-Man rip offs (or vice versa, Thundarr might have come first…) it was a goldmine for real, classic cartoons.

Today its a shadow of its former self, much like Melly Gibson or Tom Cruise, and that makes me sad…

RetroJunk has a great article on it. And by great article I mean three sentence blurb complaining about the same things I just mentioned. But still, its worth checking out. I have to disagree with them, though, as I believe Cartoon Network started dying as soon as they started cramming their own cartoons down kids’ throats…
